Technical architectural overview:
Open For Business (OFBiz) is a suite of enterprise applications built on a common architecture using common data, logic and process components. The loosely coupled nature of the applications makes these components easy to understand, extend and customize.
The applications and application components that come with the system provide you with a broad and flexible basis that can be used as-is with the best-practices based designs, or customized to your own special needs. The applications facilitate management of everything from parties and products to accounting, customer service and internal resource and asset management.
Ofbiz is basically java based product, which can be easily deployed on any OS and can be used effectively. You just need to have a server with java environment. You can choose from a wide variety of databases, out of which MySql and derby are most efficiently and successfully used.

Mapping : Ofbiz has almost each and everything ready according to the business needs. Almost all the main modules which are needed in the business are already built and can be used as such. Required changes can be made very easily in these modules. In general, after understanding client's requirement, we map the processes to ensure that existing modules sync accordingly with each other to meet the requirements.
Customization : Since Ofbiz provides the flexibility to customize its components our team has the expertise to configure different modules according to client's requirement. In this process, all the mapped processes got implemented actually to the system. All needed existing modules got customized according to the client's needs. Configuring client's company, creating parties, grating them permissions, creating suppliers and customer are few to name in this process.

| Why OFBIZ |
The Open For Business Project is a collaborative effort involving a large group of users and developers and is moderated by a small central team. The applications and framework components are being used in a wide variety of businesses and applications and are customized heavily in many circumstances to meet the needs of the organizations using the software.
This is only possible and can only operate efficiently and effectively as an open source project. This is in sharp contrast to the style of most commercial vendors that restrict many possible uses of and extensions to their software through design limitations or licensing restrictions in order to extract a greater profit from the use of the software. Much of the early commercial software was much more flexible and open and less restrictive than many modern packages. As that trend continues more developers and users of software start to consider a more trusting alternative.
While those who contribute to the project, including the moderators, choose not to force others who use it to pay them, they can benefit in many other ways. Often you will find that the system is so close to what you need that a small amount of effort on your part can change the system to be perfect for you. If that effort is contributed back to the community others in a similar situation can help improve and maintain it. You as the contributor you can freely upgrade your own system with other improvements in the main project without having to worry about your changes that might conflict with his addition. |
